Trying to make it two wins in the last three contests versus the Bricklayers, the Os came up just one or two plays short. The first half was arguably the Os best ever. They scored a team record 26 first half points, and it seemed like they could not miss a basket. Uncharacteristically, the Os jumped out to an 11-0 lead and held it through the half. The only negative in the half was a scoring controversy. The Os' statgirls (and the video) revealed that the Os had 26 points, but the scorekeepers had only tallied 24. Luckily the discrepancy did not affect the outcome of the game.

As great as the first half had been, there was no way the Os could keep the pace up. They shot a much lower percentage in the second half and had some lapses on defense leading to open 3s. The Bricklayers were able to catch and overtake the Os. However, the Os had a chance to tie the game in the waning seconds. The Os had the ball on the sideline with enough time to swing the ball around the outside for an open shot. Unfortunately, the pass went off fingertips and the Os rally was stifled.

Despite the loss, it was a great collective effort by the Os. For the second time in 2006 and the 15th time ever, every O scored. The Os also had their second highest field goal percentage. Despite great rebounding efforts by Big D and the Giant, the team was led by Lil' Joe and Big D. Lil' Joe had perhaps his best game as an O, scoring 15 points (his second best total) and pulling in 6 rebounds and 4 assists, both career highs. Big D went 2 for 2 from the floor, played solid defense, and his entire family showed up wearing O orange. In the closest voting ever, the family put Big D over the top for the awarding of the game's O-phy.
